Echo review: fans are finding the show boring, critics says that the ending is pretty impressive but ending falls apart.
Fans are finding the recently released Marvelʼs Series ʻEchoʼ very decent with a painfully simple floor. When Marvel studio announced the miniseries echo being, a loyal follower of Marvel cinematic universe I was pretty curious. For those who hours new to MCU and Marvel Studios, the echo is definitely not the top character one would ask for a standalone series.
After the Multiverse being introduced in Marvel cinematic universe, the fans were more interested in bigger scale. But those few peoples who still had expectations from it honestly saying ,this was not worth it. The full series have a very decent story with only few good plot twist and action sequences. Acting of Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez/Echo was good but this is not the only thing that makes a series worth watching.
It is also not an understatement to call the current phase of MCU, its most complicated one with the advent of the Multiverse concept, the franchise has become a tough sell for fans wanting it to recommend to others, who have been unaware to it and would like to deep dive into the vast expansive universe. After all there are not many franchises who have 33 films and 11 series. And it is not wrong that echo is too a tough sell.
The story of series premises after the five months of the events of Hawkeye (2021), Maya Lopez, the mute girl, who is the protagonist of the series is being pursued by Wilson fiskʼs organisation leading her to return to her hometown in Oklahoma, where she must return to terms with her past reconnect with her native American roots, and embrace her family and community. Coming back to review, the series feels like it was supposed to be 10 episodes but they added it 5. Character development is minimal to
none. Kingpin supposedly adopts echo when she was very young and her parents died, but this is not really shown. Would have been a great place to start and to build up their relationship. Instead we are just told they are close and deal with it. It was jarring. Native American spirituality and mysticism all of one son in flashbacks, not always for obvious reasons. There is some connection between the flashbacks and the nature of Echoʼs healing powers but it is not clearly illustrated and not sold properly. And by the way, in the comic books power she has the ability to copy anyoneʼs fighting styles. We never see this in show.
The comic book character is deaf and so is the actress. This was interesting and was great to see good to see actress play a major part. However, the lack of hearing is used as a gimmick when fighting as open sound is totally turned off to show that she is deaf. The problem though is that it makes the scenes boring, sound is really important for immersion. They missed the boar somewhere here. Echo, the star ,as a character is not likeable. Redeeming qualities are few and far between. She tries to kill like flies to dog poop.
No remorse at all. Is selfish, does not care who pays for her actions and want to only replace KingPin. Actually, if you want to watch as required watching to prepare for future marvel, movies, are you need is episode one and five, all else is filler.
